James 4:10 English Standard Version (ESV)
10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
Colossians 3:23 English Standard Version (ESV)
23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.
I have been observing how people jockey for position.
Some act like they don’t want to be promoted while in the presence of others, while they are secretly attempting to weave webs of deceit.
Some are openly ambitious and will do whatever it takes to climb the ladder, whether that means climbing over, stepping on, or kicking someone aside.
What both of these types of folks forget, is that they are not, and never will be-in control.
Either you have God’s favor, or you don’t.
You can’t buy it, manipulate Him to get it, or whine about not having it.
And the thing is, when you have God’s favor, you receive promotion whether you want it or not.
And you cannot obtain God’s favor out of your own perceived strength, holiness, or works.
See the Scriptures I posted at the top?
Those are the keys to promotion.
True humility before God, and hard, honest work.
That’s it.
So please, please, if you are one of those folks striving, conniving, and manipulating to get ahead-it may work for you temporarily. But if you want real success, go back to the Scriptures above, meditate on them, and do them.
Might help your stress level, too.
