Have you ever felt like a popped balloon?
Like, everything is going along fine. It’s a sunny day. You’re floating near the clouds and the birds are singing. Then…
Well we have all felt like that at one time or another. I mean totally deflated. Either we float too close to the sun, or we weren’t inflated enough in the first place. Sometimes when we pop it’s a loud, ear-shattering bang. But sometimes it’s a whimpering blubber. Sometimes we have pop-help from other people who just can’t stand to see us float.
I just want to let you know that if today has been one of those days for you, it’s ok. We are balloons that have an eternal source of air. We may pop, bang, blubber or sputter for a moment, but just for a moment. When all is said and done, we’ll keep floating. Higher and higher!
2 Corinthians 4:16 (NIV)
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
